Your Brane X can turn itself off to save the battery or to protect itself. Each shutdown has its own spoken prompt or tone. This article also covers how to force a power-off when the speaker is stuck.
It was idle on battery
If the speaker is on battery and plays no audio for 30 minutes, it turns off to save charge. It plays a short tone as it powers down.
What to do: press the power button on the back to turn it on again. Plug it in if you want it to stay on when idle.
The battery is nearly empty
When the battery is nearly empty, the speaker says “Battery low shutdown” and turns off. This protects the battery from damage.
What to do: plug the speaker in and let it charge. The orange charging light shows when charging is under way.
A speaker that shut down at high volume may play for a while longer at a lower volume, because loud playback draws more power. Still, charge it soon.
The speaker got too hot
The speaker has several temperature sensors. It first lowers its volume to cool down. If that is not enough, it says “High temperature shutdown” and turns off almost at once.
What to do:
- Move the speaker out of direct sun and away from heat sources.
- Let it cool down before turning it on again.
- Keep the speaker within its operating range of 0 to 40 degrees C (32 to 104 degrees F).
If the speaker will not turn back on, or is frozen
Hold the power button on the back for 10 seconds. This forces the speaker to power off. Then press the power button again to start it normally.
Use the same step when:
- The speaker is stuck while starting up, with the three white lights on the front never going away.
- The speaker seems not to turn on at all.
- The speaker is on but does not respond to its buttons or to the app. If only the buttons are unresponsive, Touch Controls may be off. See Control Bar buttons.
If the speaker still does not start, plug it in and check the charging light. A blinking orange light, where the light turns fully off and on, means a battery or charger fault. Contact support.
